The Los Angeles Police Protective League is proud to announce the 42nd Annual Scholarship Awards program. The program is open to college-bound dependents of active, retired or reserve LAPPL members (Lieutenant rank and below only), who have held continuous membership in the League for more than one year prior to the scholarship application submission date.
Applicant must be a 2025 high school graduate with a grade average of “C” or better.
Qualification will be judged on academic record and extracurricular activities of those applicants
whose paperwork is received by the cutoff date.
If qualified to compete, applicants will be invited to participate in the essay portion of the Scholarship Awards program.
An in-person essay will be administered on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 10am. All essays must be completed on site. No alternative scheduling arrangements will be made…. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Essays will be judged on the applicant’s ability to analyze the essay question and
effectively respond to it in writing. Winners will be selected by the League Scholarship Committee.
To receive the second half of the scholarship funds, the winning applicant must submit a copy of his/her
college/university freshman transcript with a grade average of “C” or better.
This is a unique opportunity for dependents of LAPPL members to earn scholarship assistance for the
Fall 2025 to Fall 2026 college semesters/quarters.
